Creating a Wellness Program Designed Specifically for YOU
Spring is in the air! This is a wonderful season for clearing and cleansing, and redefining what a personal wellness program might look like for YOU. There are so many ways to be healthy today, and creating a wellness program for yourself is a great way to set up a healthy system in your life.
Sometimes you really need to rewire how you create your day, with a wellness program in mind.
One thought that works for me – is to exercise three times a day, even if it’s just ten minutes at a time. I realized that I usually eat 3-5 times per day, why not exercise more than once? I mix it up with walking, elliptical, biking on my trainer, stretching, weights, etc. Also, I listen to great podcasts or audios while making my breakfast in the morning – I spend very little time watching all the ‘bad’ news on tv.
Wellness to me also means spending time with those I care about, creating boundaries around how much time I’m spending on my business, adhering to the financial plans I’ve created for my future, getting plenty of sleep, and feeling positive and happy.
If you’re one of many who spend most waking hours working, here are some simple things you can do to create a healthy wellness program, whether you’re at home or at the office:
- Increase your energy through proper breath and eating water-rich foods
- Drink half your body weight in ounces of water
- Set up a walking club before or after work with a neighbor or colleague
- Start a pedometer challenge with a goal of 10,000 steps a day.
- Hit the stairs instead of the elevator.
- Have a bowl of fruit available rather than candy.
- Eat alkalizing foods, not acidic.
- Meditate as a great way to relax and relieve the stress of the day
- Download an app on your mobile device that tracks your wellness program
- Create a list of 25 healthy ideas for your wellness program that resonate with you.

By the way, thank you for this great list of acidic/alkaline foods. Lots of stuff on this list that actually I enjoy (alkalyzing) and lots of stuff I was eating (acidic) that was dominating my diet. I am definitely skewing my diet to a more healthy balance now!
Since coaching, I find that I don’t waste my energy on things don’t really matter, and being “stressed out” is no longer my way of life. I’ve increased my productivity in all areas of my life and have a new found level of peace and contentment.
