Message from White Eagle, Hopi indigenous:

“This moment humanity is going through can now be seen as a portal and as a hole.

The decision to fall into the hole or go through the portal is up to you.

If you repent of the problem and consume the news 24 hours a day, with little energy, nervous all the time, with pessimism, you will fall into the hole. But if you take this opportunity to look at yourself, rethink life and death, take care of yourself and others, you will cross the portal.

Take care of your homes, take care of your body. Connect with your spiritual House.

When you are taking care of yourselves, you are taking care of everything else. Do not lose the spiritual dimension of this crisis, have the eagle aspect, that from above, and see the whole; see more broadly.

There is a social demand in this crisis, but there is also a spiritual demand. The two go hand in hand. Without the social dimension, we fall into fanaticism. But without the spiritual dimension, we fall into pessimism and lack of meaning.

You were prepared to go through this crisis. Take your toolbox and use all the tools available to you.

Learn about resistance of the indigenous and African peoples: we have always been and continue to be exterminated. But we still haven’t stopped singing, dancing, lighting a fire and having fun. Don’t feel guilty about being happy during this difficult time.

You do not help at all being sad and without energy. You help if good things emanate from the Universe now. It is through joy that one resists. Also, when the storm passes, each of you will be very important in the reconstruction of this new world.

You need to be well and strong. And, for that, there is no other way than to maintain a beautiful, happy and bright vibration. This has nothing to do with alienation.

This is a resistance strategy. In shamanism, there is a rite of passage called the quest for vision. You spend a few days alone in the forest, without water, without food, without protection. When you cross this portal, you get a new vision of the world, because you have faced your fears, your difficulties …

This is what is asked of you:

Allow yourself to take advantage of this time to perform your vision seeking rituals. What world do you want to build for you? For now, this is what you can do: serenity in the storm. Calm down, pray every day. Establish a routine to meet the sacred every day.

Good things emanate; what you emanate now is the most important thing. And sing, dance, resist through art, joy, faith and love. ”
Resist – Be reborn

Together series: A Powerful Force

When you add the word ‘together’, a phrase and its meaning undergoes significant changes.

  • Working… becomes:   Working together. Which becomes an accomplishment.
  • Creating… becomes:   Creating together.  Which becomes an invention.
  • Thinking… becomes:  Thinking together. Which becomes an innovation.
  • Relaxing… becomes:   Relaxing together. Which becomes a regeneration.
  • Eating… becomes:       Eating together.      Which becomes a celebration.

When are leaders at their best? Could we be audacious enough to propose that the answer is, you guessed it, together.

Above are five examples of things we’ve all done alone. And yet, when combined with this reality that we are at our very best when we are accomplishing, growing, progressing… together. And now we have the opportunity to be together…apart…

As a leader, do you TRULY believe that you are at your best when you are relationally healthy, well connected, and including others in your vision?

This surpasses imagination, prose, and theory. When we do things and take action together, we instantly become a powerful force.

In your company or organization, do you have the culture of all the creating resting on the shoulders of one person, or do you create collectively? How would your own creativity transform and develop if you included others in the conversation?

Share your own ideas and things you’ve done to spark togetherness in your leadership.

Conversations we Need to Lead

I couldn’t resist sharing a recent article I read as it supports my concerns about the approaches we’re currrently taking to protect our people, and what that might mean down the road.

It’s a fairly long article, and I think it will be well worth your time. It speaks to some of the conversations we need to be having, and this could provide a way for you to begin or continue a discussion with the people in your life.

Now more than ever, each of us has a responsibility to make a positive difference; consider choosing something that fits with who you are and your contribution to the world.

heart centered leadership in these times to get us through

I’m in Awe of your Leadership

Calming picture of a woman's hand holding a flower during sunset. Leader"s relaxation tip to calm down during these challenging times

As we navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic and the updated April 30th shelter in place in the US, I wanted to reach out and let you know I’ve been thinking of you and sending immense kindness and compassion for your physical and emotional health.

I have spoken with many of you and am so proud of how you’re stepping up as heart-centered leaders in your world, especially during these difficult times:

  • Changing your emotions from that of anger to gratitude.
  • Honoring the reality of this situation that has required you to close your well loved, non-essential business.
  • Communicating the difficult plans and conversations of furloughing some of your valued staff.
  • Pivoting your operations to a 70-80% remote business without missing a beat in servicing your customers.
  • Receiving the positive support of your board members and teams.

I am offering you a gift in all of this: a ‘guided journey’ (5:51) of a relaxation technique that is very effective for resolving any emotional reaction(s) that may be arising from influences or circumstances currently out of your control.

Please listen to this as often as you wish, and feel free to share it.

I am thinking of you and sending you blessings and compassion.

Be well.
